What’s on this month…

It’s that awkward time of year where we’re still figuring out whether we need to bring a cardigan with us to work, and immediately regretting wearing that long sleeved top to brunch – but summer is within reach and with the change of season comes a whole new host of new, hot (finally!) events. Expect rugby madness with the Hong Kong 10’s and of course, Hong Kong’s biggest sporting event – the Rugby Sevens. There are also tons of concerts, club nights and awesome activities to get involved with, so get ready for an amazing April!

GFI HKFC Rugby 10s
The GFI Rugby 10s is getting us in the mood for the Rugby Sevens, attracting over 10,000 people over the two day event. Be sure to get down this year as the 10s introduces an outdoor After Party on the Thursday evening where players will mingle with fans (slash, admirers!).

Tom Jones Live – CANCELLED
What’s new pussy cat? In need of no introduction, this music legend is here for one night only to grace us with his musical talents and classic song collections.

This event is cancelled.

Christina Noble Children’s Foundation Ladies Long Lunch
alice + olivia  have partnered with the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation by sponsoring a special gown for auction at their 7th annual Long Lunch. Guests will be given the chance to bid on the signature piece will all proceeds going directly towards the foundation and giving children back their childhood, ‘whoever they are and wherever they may be’.

Hong Kong Rugby Sevens
A right of passage for all Hong Kongers, the Rugby Sevens in back! Expect stellar rugby, buckets of booze, crazy fancy dress and a hotly anticipated performance from The Proclaimers – hosted by David Hasselhoff himself!

When: Friday, 8 April – Sunday, 10 April
Where: Hong Kong Stadium, Happy Valley, Hong Kong
How much: If you haven’t bagged a pass to the hottest weekend of the year just yet, keep your eyes open for tickets selling online. Originally priced at $1,800 for the entire weekend, expect to pay more if you’re swooping in for that all-important Saturday ticket this late in the game.

Club Cubic 5th Anniversary Party ft. Jason Derulo
Jasoooon Deruuuuloooo is coming to Asia and headed to Macau to celebrate Club Cubic‘s fifth anniversary! He’s taking you back big time with all the hits and classics in this celebratory birthday bash.

360 Wellness Fair by the Beach
Satsify your cravings with a variety of raw, vegan and wholesome goodies as Wellness 360 host their next fair by the beach.

South African Wine Festival
Grapes, glorious grapes! Come sample over 120 different South African wines and a delicious array of tapas. Learn about your favourite vino with a top talk from sommelier and restaurateur Neil Grant, as he leads a series of short, fun and informative tasting sessions. Fancy a tipple, girls?

Art Department

PLAY welcomes Art Department as he kicks off the weekend (Thursday totally counts as the weekend, FYI) with part of his Renaissance – The Mix Collection album tour.

They’re stepping up, taking charge and kicking ass – join these groovy chicks in a night powered by talented women, with guitars!

Slow Magic
Quickly becoming an international movement, Slow Magic are pulling out all the stops with their cosmic, electronic music and crowd-pleasing, fusion beats.

The Foam Run

Organised by a group of dedicated high school students from Elsa High School, run through tons of colourful foam and raise funds for the Hong Kong Institute of Diabetes and Obesity.

Disco Naps Sunday
As per usual, Disco Naps is taking #SundayFunday to another level with their sunset sessions at their secret, open-air lounge bar with happy hour drinks, lazy beats and positive vibes.

Third Culture Film Festival: Love and Confusion
The first ever Third Culture Film Festival has made its way to the 852, bringing with it bitter-sweet tales of relationships and evoking short films.
