Tai Kwun, Hong Kong’s Centre for Heritage and Arts, is bidding farewell to winter and celebrating the coming of spring with its exclusive In Bloom extravaganza. Expect a spectacular outdoor flower market taking place from Friday, 2 April to Monday, 5 April, 2021, along with endless floral-themed lifestyle offerings till Sunday, 18 April, 2021. Over the Easter weekend, the alfresco Parade Ground will be blooming with vibrant flowers and lush greenery, alongside the floral creations of local brands. Head here for stylish bouquets, floral decorations and bonsais by Gift Flowers HK, Origami Florist and OVOGARDEN.
A number of Tai Kwun’s shops and restaurants will be embracing the spirit of spring with special offerings exclusive to the event. For one, budding florists won’t want to miss Touch Ceramic’s workshops on Japanese-style floral arrangements.
FarmShare, a brand backed by the University of Hong Kong and various social enterprises, will also be introducing a range of locally-sourced sustainable food products, including those from the UNESCO-award-winning project Lai Chi Wo. Looking for some fresh spring scents? The BLOMSTRE’s aromatic candles, fragrance sprays and essential oils should do the trick. HK TimberBank will be around as well to showcase its upcycled timber creations using local forestry waste and typhoon felled trees.
