Jenna Lyons opens J. Crew in Hong Kong!

We already broke the news that J. Crew was coming to HK, but we couldn’t resist letting you in on the opening night details, especially with such special guests attending. She’s known for re-inventing J. Crew’s classic cuts with fresh, quirky twists and her designs have captured the hearts of fashionistas the world over. With a slicked back ponytail, strong red lip and those signature black rimmed glasses, she’s our biggest style crush. That’s right, Ms. Jenna Lyons flew over from the big apple to open J. Crew’s brand new stores in Hong Kong!

We managed to catch this style icon at J. Crew’s brand new IFC store (which we managed to get an exclusive preview of the day before it opened – thanks to Fed from Social Capital!)… and we have to admit it was a fan girl moment! Not only is Jenna the Executive Creative Director and President of J. Crew, but she’s also an inspirational boss, fabulous mama to son Beckett and a recent television star after her stint on the hit U.S show, Girls. Not to mention the fact that she’s just so cool!

And joining Jenna was the CEO of J. Crew, Mickey Drexler. We spotted him with one of our beautiful That Girls, Geneva of A Pair and A Spare! This fashion legend was previously CEO of Gap Inc., and like Jenna, worked his way from the bottom to the top. So why did they decide to open their flagship Asia store in Hong Kong? Well, according to Mickey, “Hong Kong is like New York, but on steroids,” and we’re guessing that’s a good thing! Either way, we’re happy that one of our favourite fashion brands has finally hit the ‘Kong, and we weren’t disappointed by the stunning store.

Imagine your ideal place to shop – the space, the layout, the colours… and you’ve got J. Crew at IFC. As an art buff, I loved the old artist canvases and art books displayed around the store, which only added to the ‘cool’ vibe. And of course, the stand out is the actual clothes.

Beautiful bejewelled details adorn some of the gorgeous garments on display – we couldn’t get enough of the intricate embroidery and bold jewellery to match. The materials and textures are all luxurious yet practical, making them easy to wear from the office to drinks.

And of course we can’t forget to mention the Sophia Webster for J. Crew shoes, which are to-die-for! For all the fellas, the J. Crew store in Central on On Lan Street doesn’t disappoint. This 21,000 sq ft space is spread out across multiple floors, and stocks all of J. Crew’s best men’s knitwear, shirts and more that will keep any man looking good.

All we can say is that we are just too excited that this cult brand has hit Hong Kong and the stores couldn’t be more beautiful. Stop by to check out this serene shopping environment and make sure your credit cards are at the ready, because you won’t be walking out empty handed!
