TAVA
We Sassy girls were sad to see one of our favourite fruit stands, Thyme, leave the neighbourhood, but in its place popped up the Turkish delight, TAVA. Featuring everything from falafel to chicken to lamb, you can take your pick from a wrap (in a traditional Middle Eastern pita), salad (add some haloumi, tabouleh or other sides!) or a la carte, and you can easily get lunch here for $70. Our favourites include the Tabouleh ($35) and Falafel salad ($65), the Turkish Salad with Haloumi ($60 plus $25 for two pieces of haloumi), and the Lamb and Haloumi Wrap ($80 plus $25 for haloumi). Is your mouth watering yet?

Just opened in the trendy neighbourhood of Tai Hang, Tipsy had us at its name! Featuring chic and contemporary interiors, the restaurant is set to serve up refined European cuisine, promising a menu of fresh seafood and meats, along with (unsurprisingly!) a wide selection of wines and beers, and cocktail menu (we love the sound of the elderflower mojito!).

The Continental
Ready to settle into all those amazing autumnal flavours? In the nick of time, The Continental has launched its brand new autumn game menu – featuring everything we love about the cooler seasons. Designed by Executive Chef Rene Michelena, the new menu focuses on contemporary European cuisine, featuring various types of game from the mountains and plains. We loved the creaminess and earthiness of the Paris Mushroom Soup ($135), the different textures of the Braised Beef Cheeks and Grilled Venison Loin with wilted kale and black truffle jus ($330) and the balance of flavour in the Rabbit and Cavatelle Pasta ($190). These are just a few of the great dishes to choose from. Pair it with a great wine from The Continental’s collection to seal the deal.

Lunch and Brunch Specials
Slide on 79
We recently checked out Slide on 79 when it first opened and loved its easy-to-drink cocktails, laid-back vibe and tasty bar snacks. So, when we heard that the cool LKF spot was also starting new lunch menu, we had to check it out. Served up everyday from 12pm until 8pm, we loved the long-list of sliders, especially the Aroy Aroy, made with minced fish, lemongrass and kaffir lime, and served with a Thai sweet chili sauce. Priced at $79 for two, $98 for three, or $179 for six, we’re sure to be going back to try some more flavours!

The newly-launched brunch menu includes 10 a la carte dishes, including an Avocado Shrimp Salad ($196), three Egg Benedict options (from $220), and triple pancakes with berries ($198). Though we’re having a hard time picking a favourite, the combo of fresh mixed berries and maple syrup is a classic we won’t refuse.
