We’d never shy away from a bubbly weekend brunch — and Bostonian Seafood & Grill’s savoury seafood spread delivered in spades. Read on for a special sweet treat just for Sassy readers…
It’s hard to resist a good brunch, especially when you top it with scrumptious seafood (freshly shucked oysters are a weakness to many!) and juicy steak cooked to perfection! The much-loved Bostonian Seafood & Grill at The Langham, Hong Kong has recently undergone a fabulous transformation, now occupying the basement of the luxury hotel.
A great romantic brunch option with bottomless bubbly to boot, there are more reasons than one to make this your next brunch spot! Plus, the exceptional service will keep you coming back for more.
An Elegant And Contemporary Affair
Mirroring the opulence of its dishes, the renovated Bostonian Seafood & Grill’s ambiance speaks of plush chairs and chandeliers, with enough space and privacy for each table. Truly an epitome of European elegance in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui.
In fact, we hardly noticed how packed the restaurant was (every seat was occupied!) because we were so absorbed in the moment and couldn’t take our eyes off our feast.
A Seafood Tower Served To Your Table
The brunch menu dubs your meal as a “bubbly journey” and you’ll be spoiled right from the beginning. A tempting tower of freshly shucked oysters, mussels, Boston lobster, sea scallop and more is brought over to your table — that’s right, you don’t even have to move an inch to fill your plates! Once you’ve eaten your way through the platter, you can have it filled to the brim again (so do pace yourselves, there’s plenty of fish in the sea!).
While an extravagant display of a seafood buffet spread may look visually grand, we loved the personal touch of kitchen-to-table service — not stealing a moment from your intimate rendezvous, and also keeping the seafood fresh. We were big fans of the oysters and mussels, as well as the six homemade condiments on the side (we dove right into the chilli-infused vinegar).
A Salad Stop With Plenty To Choose From
Not your average charcuterie spread and salad stop, the chef ran us through some of his humble yet innovative takes on classic starters. What stood out to us were the four variations of salmon; dill, saffron, whiskey (with black sesame, what a combo!) and beetroot — each one distinct in flavour (we’ve had our fair share of meals around town but never tried anything like these!). We also enjoyed the watermelon and cream cheese pistachio and the fine selection of European cheese.
The Bubbly Drinks Packages
Did you even brunch if you didn’t pop some the bubbly? The Prosecco Brunch ($888 per person) comes with unlimited pours of Lunetta Prosecco Brut and the ultimate Champagne Brunch ($1,088 per person) comes with free-flow Taittinger Brut Champagne. To elevate it further, add $200 for endless Taittinger Rosé Champagne (what we had) which seamlessly complements the seafood and main dishes. Both the drinks packages are for four hours and also include house wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee and tea.
Personalised Table-Side Service – A Steak Carving Station!
Aside from the seafood tower, another showstopper is Bostonian Seafood & Grill’s dry-aged steak. The chef wheels his carving station over to your table but before that, you get to pick your weapon of choice, a unique knife to get bad to the bone! Plated with some mashed potatoes, you can have your pick of mustard as well as four different types of salt for seasoning – another dish that felt personalised.
A Dessert Table To Satiate All The Sweet Tooth!
We’ll admit, we had been eyeing the lavish dessert spread since we arrived at the brunch, full of classics and favourites like panna cotta, macarons, and cheesecake — you name it. It’s a tough choice but if we had to pick our sweet spot, it would be between the Portuguese egg tarts and the Mille-feuille.
We recommend ending the meal with a cup of coffee or tea – for an extra kick, perhaps the Bostonian cappuccino (with Baileys), an Irish coffee or the Jamaican coffee with dark rum!
Also A Great Option For Weekday Lunch & Dinner Dates
While we were at it, we also sampled a couple of the executive lunch signatures; Bostonian lobster bisque (a must-try!) and the seared pigeons (a new addition). We’ll keep the rest of the menu a surprise for you to bring your loved ones (or colleagues) over and try for yourself! In short, Bostonian Seafood & Grill is an all-day dining destination suited for different occasions.
