The Best Things We Bought In 2024

10 December, 2024
best things team sassy bought in 2024 hero

From electronics to beauty tools and everyday items that just make life easier, we wanted to share the best things Team Sassy bought this year that you can still snag in 2025!

Some things we buy out of necessity – like trainers that don’t give us blisters – some we grab because we know our lives would be infinitely better with them – such as silk pillowcases to help protect our skin and hair from Hong Kong’s humidity – and some we get simply because we can and why not if it’ll put a smile on our faces? To that end, we’ve gone around and asked our team about a few of their favourite things this year, and you can decide for yourself if they’re worth adding to your stash (hint: they probably are!).

Best Things Team Sassy Bought In 2024: New Balance 2002R trainers sneakers shoes

New Balance 2002R

My first New Balance pair that I wish I bought sooner! I walked 20k steps every day for 7 days straight and my feet were fine – cute, comfortable and easy to pair with any outfit, I’m very happy with my 2002Rs. Plus, I snagged them at 30% off, worth every penny!

Best Things Team Sassy Bought In 2024: Kitsch x Bridgerton collectors bundle pillowcase scrunchies hair towel

Bridgerton x Kitsch Collectors Bundle

I am a sucker for a cute collaboration so when I saw that Kitsch released a beautiful Bridgerton-inspired satin pillowcase in a collection with satin scrunchies and a wrapped hair towel (something I’ve been meaning to buy for ages anyway) I bought the set immediately. The pillowcase is the perfect material to help battle Hong Kong’s humidity, the scrunchies are a tad big to wear out and about but are perfect to sleep in, and I love the way my otherwise extremely frizzy hair feels after it’s been in the wrapped towel for a few hours. I’ve since also bought the small scrunchies from the Harry Potter collection and I do foresee buying more pillowcases in the future!

Best Things Team Sassy Bought In 2024: VIMGO Projector sham shui po computer centre

VIMGO Projector

I bought this projector at the SSP Computer Centre after my last one finally gave out. Thanks to the limited space in Hong Kong flats, I don’t have enough room in my bedroom to set up a proper large TV so I adapted and bought my first projector a few years back to maximise the space, but it was just that – a basic projector. This purchase this year CHANGED MY LIFE. I’m not kidding, the quality is 10/10 but it’s also a smart projector so I can stream any and all of my shows with a MASSIVE screen (easily 80 inches). As someone who needs background noise to fall asleep, this device has changed the game for my nighttime routine. Plus, the screen is big enough that my dog also gets to also engage in his favourite past-time in bed (TV watching).

Found in the basement of Sham Shui Po Computer Centre (take the main entrance off the MTR, enter the basement, follow the path straight, take the first left, the shop is in the back right corner).

Best Things Team Sassy Bought In 2024: Gentlemans Hardware Multi Wrench Tool multitool all in one homeware

Wrench Multi Tool

I bought this multi-wrench for my partner, but at this rate I may have used it more than them! Comprising a bunch of utility tools (wrench, serrated knife, can opener, bottle opener, screwdriver and more!), it’s been perfect in a pinch. The screwdriver is a tad small but useful nonetheless, and I’ve used that little knife to saw through a solid plank of wood, so it’s not as flimsy as it seems!

Best Things Team Sassy Bought In 2024: OUAI detox shampoo sephora hong kong

OUAI Detox Shampoo

I used a strong hair gel to do a slick “clean girl” bun and didn’t think much of it but after two washes, my hair still felt and looked really stringy and crispy where the gel had been. Even after six washes with normal shampoo and conditioner it still would not come out. So, I went on Reddit to see how to take it out of my hair. I tried fairy liquid, apple cider vinegar and baking soda but nothing worked. After a month of my hair still looking like this, my friend told me about the OAUI Detox Shampoo that you can buy from Sephora. After one wash it took out everything and left my hair feeling so so soft and silky. I have used it twice now and it works wonders!

Best Things Team Sassy Bought In 2024: Aesop 75 minute facial at fashion walk store

Aesop 75-Minute Facial At Fashion Walk

I wanted to pamper myself for my birthday this year and a facial felt perfect for the dry season. I booked a session at Aesop and found it to be the most relaxing facial ever with a soothing setting. The facial therapist gave useful tips and the custom-blended formulas (with products exclusive to facials!) felt very catered to my skin. Definitely one of the best treats to myself this year!

Best Things Team Sassy Bought In 2024: ColourPop Winx Club Magic Dimension shadow stix set eyeshadow sticks makeup

Magic Dimension Shadow Stix Set

Another collaboration I simply couldn’t walk away from. I came for the Winx Club fan service, bought the Shadow Stix Set because the colours looked beautiful, and now I’m obsessed. Other than the fact that the sticks are multi-chrome (meaning they’ll look like different colours under different lights and from various angles), they’re also highly pigmented and ultra creamy which makes application a breeze. I got a ton of compliments when I first started wearing them and even brought them into the office so others could try – the Winx Stix are sure to make anyone’s eyes look dazzling, especially my favourites: Golden Pollen and Rising Sun! Plus, if you buy the whole set, you’ll easily reach free shipping from ColourPop.
