New year, new clothes… right?! We’ve been giving our closets a bit of a spring clean for 2014 (check out our top tips for that here!) – which, of course, means that we’re already thinking about what new additions could spruce up our wardrobes for the new season!
We’ve put together our Sassy Spring Wish List, a few of our favourite things that we’re hoping find their way into our homes in time for the new season. Here’s hoping you find some spring-time inspiration too!
I don’t believe in taking fashion too seriously – and I think a cartoon T-Rex on a jumper is pretty much as un-serious as you can get! This ASOS Dinosaur Jumper can’t fail to put a smile on my face… especially if I pair it with my favourite orange lipstick (MAC’s Morange since you ask!).
Might oaks from small acorns grow… so I’m hoping big things will come out of this Justine Brooks Acorn Pendant!
I’ve been looking for the perfect black leather backpack all winter and I think this might be the one! Backpacks look great dressed up or down; I’m obsessed and this ASOS Black Leather Backpack will certainly be finding its way into my closet this spring.
I’m making an effort this spring to ditch the cigarette pants and wear more skirts and dresses. This neon ASOS Floral Shift Dress would look great with a tan (and my new leather backpack!) and is something I could take from day to night with a simple switch of shoes.
I’ve been looking for a white dress forever so I thought researching my wish list would prove the ideal opportunity to find the perfect one. Alas, I got side-tracked yet again with this Lipsy Printed Sequin Dress (although in my defence, it is mainly white)! It’s interesting enough to capture your attention for a few minutes, but not so revealing that you can’t go to work in it (just throw on a blazer!).
As for this Catarzi Floppy Hat… almost anyone would tell you that I’ve wanted to be a “hat person” for the longest time (only enhanced by Sabrina sticking a beanie on me for our Club Monaco shoot!), but I think my head is just too small. Perhaps I could just try it with this dress anyway?! What do you guys think?
Nothing says spring like this River Island Neon Flower Print Shift Dress!
Team it with these ASOS Spring Break Heels, which are so reasonably priced that they’re sure to put a spring in your step (pun intended!).
Backpacks are back and cuter than ever! These are perfect for the girl-on-the-go or the hectic mama who needs to be hands-free. All that function and you look so fashionable too?! Sign me up! I love this Leather Satchel Company Brown Leather Backpack, which is classic meets cool – and at 14″ wide, can stash your iPad and essentials with ease!
I’m suddenly seeing the world with rose-coloured glasses and all my purchases need to be pink (especially after writing this post!). This Pink Pencil Peplum Skirt would not only land you on the pages of any street-style site with ease but, thanks to the peplum, actually looks like it’s blooming! Add a cute fitted t-shirt, a statement necklace and a printed pump and spring forth, my dear!
This season, I want to be the Valentino boho-luxe, gypsy girl; I’m thinking lots of jewel-toned, swishy, tribal things and a fringed clutch tucked under an arm jangling with gold bangles. Channelling that look, this little ASOS Skater Dress is top of my spring wish list. I’m loving the floral embroidery and it’s the perfect transitional piece – great for now with ankle boots and a leather jacket, then perfect when it gets a bit warmer slung over the top of a bikini.
Continuing the theme, I also love this Adin & Royale Victoire Cuff. It’s a little bit tribal, and a whole lot glam!
I know that the colour black doesn’t exactly scream spring, but I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for a full-length jumpsuit like this one for a while now. I like the fact that this ASOS Jumpsuit can be dressed up or down and brought to life with accessories that have a pop of colour.
Wrist candy like this Bex Rox Lola Bracelet makes me swoon. It’s a versatile piece that would compliment a number of looks. Definitely on my hit list!
There’s nothing so essential in my spring wardrobe as a scarf, and my latest object of desire is this cute Russian Doll-print number! The vibrant shades on this Helen Ruth Scarf combined with the adorable pattern are perfect to pretty up my standard issue ‘chucked-on-jeans-and-a-jacket’ look…
… And what a jacket! I’ll take this one please, by one of my very favourite designers. Eschewing her usual retro prints for a grown-up slate grey, there’s still enough of her trademark quirk on this Orla Kiely Knitted Milano Jacket to guarantee a few double takes on the street. I can’t get enough of the heart pockets – perfect for my son to fill up with shells on a beach walk!
This Ted Baker Floral Dress screams spring from a mile away; after all those boring blacks and browns took over my winter wardrobe, I’m definitely in need of a colour shout-out! Plus, I could wear it on a Friday and easily go from work to drinks at RED in IFC. Springtime = rooftop bars!
My inner flower child would want to spend all my weekends at music festivals, if only we had more of them closer to home. Until then, I can wear this Ann Marie Faulkner Zari Headband with my best maxi at brunch and call out to Drew Barrymore!
