Chanel Temporary Tattoos

We feel like we’ve got tattoos on the brain at the moment – everywhere we look we’re seeing examples of beautifully feminine re-imaginings of this traditionally very masculine art form. I’m not sure how we managed to miss what might be the most wearable (for wimps like me) form of this trend, seen at Chanel for their 2010 Spring/Summer collection. Delicately inked chains, interlocking C’s and birds were used to compliment a black and white colour palette and pale pale skin.

Now, excitingly, temporary tattoos featuring these designs (originally created by the chief Creative Director for Chanel Beauty, Peter Phillips) will be available in selected stores under the name Les Trompe L’Oeil de Chanel Temporary Skin Art. Priced at US$75 (we don’t have a Hong Kong price yet) for 55 designs, they’re certainly not a cheap thrill, but for a little piece of Chanel it’s one of the cheapest options out there. We’re intrigued by the idea and would love to test them out, but with our budget we should probably trawl Pottinger Street for some cheaper alternatives!
