Hong Kong Gets A Halloween Makeover: Spooky Spots To Visit In October

All dressed up in your Halloween costume and got nowhere to go? Stop by these Halloween-themed spots to revel in the spooky season.

You’re not the only one dressing up for Halloween this year! As the spooky season approaches, the city will be bewitching us with some sweet surprises. Hong Kong Tourism Board has revamped our favourite tourist spots and attractions as part of the “Hallo Hong Kong Halloween” campaign.

You might have already spotted a few gleeful ghosts lurking around a few MTR stations along the Island, Tsuen Wan and South Island lines. Admiralty and Causeway Bay stations will be particularly adorned with pumpkin-themed decorations, making for some great photo op spots on your way to your fancy dress party.

It doesn’t stop there. When you’re out and about, you’ll also get a spooky feel as you commute on the road and across the harbour, with the Sightseeing Bus, Star Ferry and Dukling junk boat dressed to match the theme.

More neon pumpkins, ghosts and bats will be taking over other tourist hot spots, including the Avenue of Stars, Harbour City, Lee Tung Avenue and the Mid-Levels Escalator. Needless to say, they’ll be hard to miss, but if there’s one spot worth going out of your way to visit, it would be the Park Lane Shopper’s Boulevard in Tsim Sha Tsui. Suspended above the sidewalk will be strings of lights with Halloween-themed motifs. If you don’t, you’re sure to spot them on your Instagram feed.

As an extra treat, eight shopping malls and attractions across Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay and Central have something up their sleeves. Stop by Harbour City, The ONE, Avenue of Stars, Lee Tung Avenue, Times Square, Fashion Walk, SOGO Department Store and Central Market to pick up some limited-edition Halloween souvenirs between Friday, 27 October and Tuesday, 31 October.
