The long weekend is finally here! Don’t be upset if you’re not going to be out of town enjoying some vacation time on international waters – there’s plenty to be excited about right here in the 852. So make room for an event-filled holiday… we’ve got your weekend covered!

Don’t cry for me… Argentina!
No tears will be shed this weekend if you’re a lover of Argentine cuisine, because the Four Seasons Hong Kong will be flying Chef Nicolas Diaz from the Four Seasons Buenos Aires to make sure you’re wined and dined in style! Nicolas will be dishing up treats from his restaurant Elena (Buenos Aires’ hottest new joint) for the La Vida Argentina special menu, so come ready to feast on Patagonian spider crab, different cuts of Luis Barco 65-day dry-aged beef, and to top everything off dulce de leche Panqueques (translation: heavenly pancakes with a huge dollop of vanilla ice cream … yuuuuuum)! There will also be an extended list of Argentinian wines, plus a display of Latin American art at The Lounge – who needs that ticket to Buenos Aires anyway?! If your mouths are watering already (we know ours are – check out the full menu here!), this dining event lasts for nine days only, so make sure you book your place before it’s too late!

Flippity flop!
Fact: girls love flip-flops! You probably don’t want to admit it, but we’ve all got like, twenty pairs stashed away in the back of our shoe closet… So why not add one more to the mix? Havaianas is bringing their Make Your Own Havaianas pop-up beach huts back to Hong Kong for summer, so you can DIY your own flip flops with whatever straps, soles, pins and colours you please! With over 200 different combinations available, you could almost get a pair to match every outfit (err… just don’t tell your bank manager!).

Test the waters!
Spend a day out on the beach for the 5^th Palm Beach Open Day! Come lay out on the beach, get the BBQ on and check out the cool Native American teepees, live music performances and fun bouncy castles (certain to bring out the child in you!). If you’re more comfortable in the water, get in on the free trials and try outs for water sports including body boarding, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and windsurfing… we’re getting excited just thinking about it! Cross your fingers for the sun and grab a few friends or come and meet some new ones, as this is bound to be one fun-filled beach day.

Man vs Food!
Celebrate American Independence Day with a US favourite – the hot dog! Get in on The Langham Hong Kong’s Hot Dog Eating Contest and prove to the world that you’re a winner when it comes to wolfing down hot dogs; you’ve got ten minutes to eat as many as you can for this Man vs Food-style challenge! It’s as crazy as it sounds, but if you win, there are prizes worth over $500 up for grabs to ease those meat sweats. Meanwhile, for spectators who don’t have a steel stomach, you can enjoy a 20% discount on Main Street Deli’s regular menu and come cheer on your fave hot dog eater!
