chocIt’s not just any afternoon tea…
But a chocolate afternoon tea! Palm Court over at the Langham Hong Kong is famous for their extra special Tiffin Afternoon Tea (which we reviewed here)… and now they’ve added a sinful touch for summer by turning it into a Valrhona Chocolate Afternoon Tea instead! Get ready for a whole lotta choc with beautiful desserts that highlight Valrhona’s four chocolate colours – dark, milk, white and blonde (that’s caramelised white chocolate, chocolate connoisseurs!) – plus a few bite-sized savouries to balance it all out. Get your appetites (and cameras) ready for some afternoon indulgence, girls!

boogieReady to rock (and roll!)
We’ve all used the #TBT (Throwback Thursday)hashtag way too many times on Instagram and Twitter… but how about throwing it all the way back to the dawn of the rock n’ roll era? Starting all the way back in the fifties, Rockabilly was the music that paved the way for classic rock n’ roll – so this Saturday night, put on your polkadot A-line dress, style those liberty rolls and get the red lippie out for the Dirty Boogie Rockabilly Festival 2013! Get your retro on and rock out with some of the top rockabilly bands from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Philippinesget in on some live hair styling action and, for the truly brave, get inked by Starcrossed Tattoo. Forget an evening in with Grease… this is the real thing!

When: 20 July, 8pm till late
Where: The Fringe Club, 2 Lower Albert Road, Central, Hong Kong
How much: $200 in advance, $220 at the door, including one drink; ticketing locations here

fritesCheers!
Known for their amazing range of Belgian beers on tap, Frites is celebrating Belgian National Day in the best way they know how – with a good ol’traditional beer and food tasting, of course! There will be eight different kinds of Belgian beer matched with eight courses of gourmet food (we’re talking moules marinere and fish & frites paired with the likes of Hoegaarden and Duvel – yum!), with the whole experience guided by Frites’ expert staff. So it’s time to get a taste of Belgium for this one night-only event – just remember, it’s a Wednesday so go easy on those pint glasses!
