French label Sandro lands in Hong Kong

15 October, 2012

So the new kid in town is here and is every bit as cool as we had hoped โ€“ Hong Kong, meet Sandro! Sandro is the รผber hip Parisian brand that will be taking our fall style to the next level. Less is more here and there is a distinct eye for detail without all that distracting excess. The garments are clean and crisp with one or two striking details leaving you looking calm, collected, and most certainly cool!

Though Sandro may be new to HK, the brand was actually launched in 1984 by husband and wife team Didier and Evelyne Chetrite and there are now around 200 boutiques worldwide selling the line. We are super pumped that theyโ€™ve finally decided to land at IFC with a stand-alone boutique (having been previously available at Rue Madame and Lane Crawford here), so that we can indulge on all this Parisian goodness!

Upon walking in I was immediately taken by the wide range of coats on offer. Perhaps the Parisian brand missed the memo that it doesnโ€™t get cold here for another three months but that didnโ€™t stop me from oooing and aaahing over piece after piece! Looks like I may need to plan a trip somewhere cool just to have a reason to snap up one of these!

Your fall fashion staple, the motorcycle jacket, just got an upgrade! Now you can have it in fur, as a vest, in a colour, in a mix of materialsโ€ฆ you name it, they have it! These pieces are considered a basic in my book because you can throw them over most summer dresses and add tights for an instant transition to fall.

But best of all, you can also get this style as an overcoat! Personally, I love the camel with the detachable fur collar, but you may also love the gray or black variety with the leather trim.

Next up on our shopping hit list were these perfect day-to-night and totally work-appropriate blazers and jackets. Tough touches like zippers, chains, and leather panels adorn these pieces. Feel free to layer these over your basic shift for work and then ripped jeans, a t-shirt and pumps for fun! Another plus is that these Parisian chic jackets never go out of style, so feel free to wear one now and then pull it back out the wardrobe in another 20 years to pair with pearls.

My fave? I have my eye on the little velvet number on the right as it reminds me of Prince in all the best ways!

Still not convined to check Sandro out? I bet these peplums will persuade you! The white was a total Sassy fave as it would pair perfectly with simple accessories and chunky chains alike. Not sure how to work a peplum yet? Check out this article for all the peplum pointers you need!

Lastly, be sure to take a gander at the accessories and shoes lying around. There arenโ€™t many but what they do have is gorge! I love this satchel, which is perfect for loading up with maps and cameras and snacks for my next city trek. Check out these other fab shoes and bags that are not to be missed!

All that you see here is on the racks now so get shopping (prices are around $5-6k for the coats and $2-3k for the dresses) โ€“ after all, by the time itโ€™s cold, you might have missed all the good stuff!
