What's On HK

Hello from Sassy’s new editor!

26 March, 2014

The Power of Film Gala, the Rugby Sevens, the Affordable Art Fair… it seems like it’s all going on this month! HK is the city that never sleeps, and this month Sassy HQ has taken that saying to heart, as we’ve been working at full speed to keep you up to date with all of HK’s latest happenings. It might be busy, but it’s oh-so exciting, and I am absolutely ecstatic to be joining as Sassy Hong Kong’s new Editor!

Having been born and raised in Hong Kong, I love this city and its amazing energy (almost too much!). I’m a Hong Kong girl through and through, and even though I feel like I know HK like the back of my hand, I’m constantly surprised by it and I love how we have such a range of different things to do here. One day I’ll be sipping on an amazing cocktail (a favourite at the moment is the Martinez at The Black Star!), the next I’ll be hiking through the country parks or munching on har gao at my favourite local dim sum joint. There’s always something going on in HK, but it can be hard to keep track of it all… enter Sassy Hong Kong, the ultimate resource for this buzzing city!

As a long time Sassy reader I couldn’t be happier to be a part of this fantastic site. I was instantly drawn to it as not only did I find the content useful (everyone needs to know where to get the cheapest manicures!), but I also loved how fun the site was, not to mention pretty – kudos to our amazing Graphic Designer Gaby!

This city is full of hidden surprises, and this year we’ll be giving you the insider’s tips on HK’s coolest spots. Whether you’re looking for the best place to get that much needed facial (I love Caudalie’s new boutique spa) or even the best places to get that fancy dress costume, we’ve got it covered! We’ve got loads of new features coming out to give you all a bit of variety (it is the spice of life!). From Sassy Supports, which looks at wonderful Hong Kong charities, to Man About Town, featuring tips from our very first Sassy guy, we’ve got some exciting things lined up for this year.

One of the many things I love about Sassy is how we celebrate women, their achievements, successes and talent. This year, expect to see more interviews with inspirational women from all walks of life in our That Girl and Super Styler pieces, as well as some other surprise posts along the way! We’ll be getting the insider scoop on a number of different industries, as well as career advice and general life hacks from these wonderful women.

Fashion, beauty, travel, events and of course, food and drink… it’s going to one jam-packed 2014! As a self-confessed art lover, I’m also going find fun ways to introduce you all to HK’s growing art scene, with help from some of Hong Kong’s most creative individuals (check out Emma French‘s Affordable Art Fair guide!).

I can’t wait to continue sharing Hong Kong life with you all, and thanks to our fabulous bloggers who make it all possible! Lets make this Year of the Horse one to remember!
