Spas

We love to put on a plush robe, soft slippers, and lounge around feeling like we can let all the stresses of the world ebb away. One of our favourite things to do is grab our girlfriends and hit the spa to catch up with each other while we rest and revitalize.

Spa at Four Seasons Hotel
Four Seasons Hotel, 8 Finance Street, Central (3196 8888) $$$
The ultimate urban chic retreat with modern décor and a contemporary feel, Spa at Four Seasons redefines pampering. Our favourite pick is the Lomi Lomi. The rhythmic movements of this massage will definitely put you in another state of mind!

Foot Reflexology/Body Massage

One of the best parts about living here in Hong Kong is that there are foot massage/reflexology shops on nearly every corner. Foot Reflexology is an ancient Chinese method, which targets pressure points on the feet and hands for many health benefits. Typically you can just walk into any Reflexology joint in town and spoil yourself with this super low cost/guilt-free treat.

Happy Foot
11/F, Jade Centre, 98-102 Wellington Street, Central (2544 1010) $

Okay, this is for the diva in all of us! Xi Shi Wellbeing brings comfort and privacy to a new level. They actually come to you. Think of it as spa delivery. No need to change out of your pj’s to get to the spa, don’t need to worry about catching a taxi to make the appointment on time, and best of all you can fall asleep and not have to deal with getting back home.

Nail Salons

Sometimes we need to take matters into our own hands. A good mani/pedi is the perfect excuse to put your hands to rest and your feet first while someone else takes care of your grooming needs. Hiring a professional to clean, clip, file, and paint your nails is almost a necessity after wearing open-toed heels on a night out in LKF. Then again, getting a mani/pedi for whatever reason makes any girl feel like a princess!

Blossom Nails
20 Old Bailey Street, Central (2810 0335) $$
Tucked away on Old Bailey Street, Blossom Nails is a charming little shop. They do exceptional mani/pedis that last. If you have chipping, but no time for a manicure, stop into Blossom and ask for a quick polish change.

A nail haven. Decorated in relaxing and muted shades of green, this is the ideal spot to unwind. The Central location is fantastic for those who love to people-watch; situated next to the Mid-Levels Escalator it’s easy to stare out of the window and check out all the passersby. Walk-ins are welcomed. Sassy tip: Go on a Sunday morning when traffic is slow and book a foot massage with the fabulous Pa.

Kiss My Nail
1/F, 9-11 Cochrane Street, Central $$
This nail salon which is situated right off the escalators is just two floors down from one of our favourite hair salon (Louis & Co). The best part is that they even can send someone up to do your mani and pedi as your hair is getting done. This is what we call multitasking!

Manipedi
Room 902, Abdoolally House, 20 Stanley Street (2815 3319) $$
If nail salons gross you out with old polish bottles, dust everywhere, and year old magazines taking up space, then Manipedi is definitely for you! The décor is as sterile as the tools. White on white everywhere you look, no clutter, and the highest levels of sanitation. We think this salon should be renamed the Mani Museum! Treatments range from the most basic mani/pedis to customized items like Paraffin wax and gels.

Nailone
3/F, 23 D’Aguilar Street (2537 2991) $$
We just discovered Nailone and in our opinion they have the most comfy pedicure chairs in town. Sink into a lounge chair, flip through a magazine or two and just relax as the Nailone technicians do what they do best…Nails! In addition to nails (natural, artificial, nail art), the salon also offers waxing and massages (foot and body). Nailone is the place to go for a pre going out mani/pedi as it is situated in LKF. Can’t think of a better way to arrive at drinks then with freshly polished nails!

Champagne Nail Bar
Harvey Nichols, Central (2111 0400) $$$
Giving your credit card a workout while shopping at Harvey Nichols may just be the number one excuse to get a Manicure while sipping on Champagne! That’s right, Harvey Nichols has a nail bar smack in the middle of their department store. What more do we need to say?

If you live by the philosophy that less is more when it comes to hair, then Nude is the place for you. Offering an array of hair removal services, there will be a treatment here to meet all your hair-be-gone needs. They’ve got the basics like trimming and shaping your brows, to the more over the top requests like adding Swarovski Crystals to your bikini line.

Rozali Wax Factory
14/F, Ho Lee Commercial Building, Lan Kwai Fong (9835 0284) $$
Rozali is full of personality, once quoted as saying “If your Miss Muffet is a great big tuffet, the fabulous Rozali is at your cervix.” The walls at the Wax Factory are adorned with nude portraits of Ms. Rozali herself. This waxing guru will probably have you laughing away your pain!

Threading

Feel Good Factor
2/F, Winsome House, 73 Wyndham Street, Central (2530-0610) $$
The technicians at the Feel Good Factor are quick and skillful. It takes about two minutes per eyebrow. Threading should be done approximately every 4-6 weeks.

2/F, Mainsilt Building, 42-44 Stanley Street (entrance is on Pottinger Street), Central (2526 3635)
We have heard from someone directly that “The best place to get your hair cut and straightened is with Erin Yip at Right Hand Workshop”. He does amazing Japanese hair straightening which is essential for keeping your hair pretty in the HK humidity. The shop has been called a “hole-in-the-wall” but we are perfectly fine to overlook that if the result is pin straight hair!
